Finance is the core of modern economy and the IT application in finance constitutes an important part of China’s national strategy of IT application development. As the central bank of China, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) is the department for macro adjustment and regulation, and its IT application building is of great significance for the central bank to implement the monetary policies, safeguard financial stability and provide financial services. Under the cordial care of the Central Party Committee and the State Council and according to the unified leadership and strategic deployment of the Party Committee of the People’s Bank, the IT application building in our bank has been closely centering on the functions of the central bank and we have been continuously quickening its pace to meet the demand for various functions and rapid development of the financial business of the central bank.

This year witnesses the last year of the Tenth Five Year Plan. The building of IT application in the People’s Bank has been developing rapidly and greatly promoted the continuous improvement of the level of the IT application and financial services. This has enabled our bank to basically realize the information transmission through network, the business handling with computers and the automation in handling government affairs, and to basically attain the overall goals of the IT application building of the People’s Bank during the Tenth Five Year Plan.
